Editing
While having the technical skills required to be an editor is important, a large part of my job involves simply talking to people. Being able to liaise with multiple clients at once, technical teams or even clients new to video production who require a clear understanding of the processes involved. It is something I pride myself on in addition to knowing exactly what the latest trends, software, equipment and techniques are.
My work has included and has not been limited to: Broadcast, Corporate, Documentary, Educational / Instructional, Government, Training & Music Videos.
Through work I've travelled extensively through Europe as an on-site editor which involved flying out on location and cutting promotional videos through the night for presentations at breakfast the next morning for high profile clients including Roxy Music, Ronan Keating & Elton John. These jobs were very high pressure but very rewarding.
For two years I managed a team of nine editors and this helped me to see another side to the business and also how to not only look after my own deadlines but also manage the schedules of others.
