Visual Effects

Visual Effects is a term that encompasses many different skills and techniques in the production process. Visual Effects can be as straight forward as making a companies logo animate for a conference through to complex frame-by-frame manipulation of footage to add or 'composite' images that were not a part of the original shoot.

Usually work starts out with a creative brief, a meeting with the client and then being left to create layouts and concepts from scratch. Stock images and footage are sometimes incorporated as well as music.

Over the past five years requests for my Visual Effects work has increased. It's an exciting part of the post-production process but also very time consuming. I enjoy biting off a little more than I can chew so that I am constantly challenged and learning. My clients are rewarded because they get the best out of me, as I am most comfortable working under pressure.

My work has included title sequences for short films, conference sting videos, logo animation, and award ceremony packages. I have also cut together many show reels for corporate and creative clients over the years so I am quite adept at 'jazzing' up existing material to make it more dynamic.
